Female World Leaders Who Are Breaking Stereotypes And Ruling Like A Boss

Times are gone when men used to excel in every field. Women nowadays are taking a stand for their rights and freedom. Be it sports, cinema, or defence, women are making a mark in every field. In today’s edition, we are going to talk about the women leaders of different nations. If we talk about India, our nation has witnessed Smt. Indira Gandhi as Our Prime Minister and Smt. Pratibha Patil as our President in the past.

In this list, we have jotted down the female leaders who are currently presided in the office. Have a look:

1- Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović  (President of Croatia)

She is serving as the 4th and current President of Croatia since 2015. She is the first woman to be elected to the office after the first multi-party elections in 1990.

2- Theresa May ( Prime Minister of UK)

She is serving as the PM of UK since 2016. Former to that, May was appointed Home Secretary and Minister for Women and Equalities.

3- Tsai Ing-wen (President of The Republic Of China)

She is presiding the office since May 20, 2016. Tsai is the first woman to be elected to the office, Tsai is the seventh president of the Republic of China under the 1947 Constitution.

4- Dalia GrybauskaitÄ— (President of Lithuania)

Dalia is the country’s first female President (2009) and the first President of Lithuania to be reelected for a second consecutive term (2014).

5- Erna Solberg (Prime Minister of Norway)

She is serving as PM of Norway since October 2013.

6- Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca (President of Malta)

She was appointed as the 9th President of Malta in the year 2014.

7- Ameenah Gurib-Fakim (President of Mauritius)

She served as the 6th President of Mauritius from 2015 to 2018.

8- Bidhya Devi Bhandari (President of Nepal)

Bidhya Devi is the current President of Nepal and the first woman to hold the office. She was elected in the year 2015.

9- Hilda Heine (President of the Marshall Islands)

Hilda is currently serving as the eighth President of the Marshall Islands. She assumed the office from the year 2016.

10- Jacinda Ardern (Prime Minister of New Zealand)

37-year-old Jacinda is serving as the 40th Prime Minister of New Zealand. She was elected in October 2017.

11- Aung San Suu Kyi (Prime Minister Of Myanmar):

She assumed office from 6 April 2016. From 2012 to 2016 she was an MP for Kawhmu Township to the House of Representatives.

12- Sheikh Hasina (Prime Minister Of Bangladesh)

She is the current and 10th Prime Minister of Bangladesh since 2009. In 2008 she was elected as the PM and was re-elected again in 2014.

Though the number is still small, we can still take inspiration. Hats off to the ladies who are breaking the glass ceiling and making a difference in our society.
