Real Heroes Of Mumbai Came Forward To Help People During Heavy Rain

India is one of those countries which receives heavy rain during monsoon, especially the area near the sea experience maximum rainfall. Currently, Mumbai is submerged underwater and due to the suspension of local train services, a lot of people are stranded particularly nowhere in the city. As private weather forecasting agency Skymet said the rainfall may cross 150 mm in the next 24 hours, citizens are bracing for another day floods.

In this tough time for the city, meet some unsung heroes of the country who have been working selflessly to help people stuck in rain and floods. The Mumbai Railway staff, Mumbai police, Gurudwaras, Drivers and various selfless workers have emerged as the real heroes for the city.

Since Mumbai is one of the busiest city in the country, a number of Trains pass through Mumbai stations daily. The Mumbai Railway staff makes sure that these trains pass safely with security even during heavy rains and floods. According to a railway official, there are more than a thousand of these workers who work day in and day out, “especially during monsoons. About 2,000 of the staff can be counted if we include the RPF staff as security becomes a prime concern at this time.”

We as a citizen can stay in our home while it rains heavy outside but the brave police of Mumbai city stay on road to help each and every person in need of help and also to make sure that no accidents happen due to potholes and water.

During rains or any other calamity, humanity becomes the foremost religion. A Gurudwara in Dadar, Mumbai not only gave shelter and fed the stranded but also delivered food to two major hospitals nearby.

The Western Railways, along with a couple of youth volunteers from NGOs, came forward to distribute snacks and tea for people.

Even taxi drivers and workers are working hard to help people stuck in rain.

Let us all take a moment and appreciate these real heroes of our society.
