BCCI spoke to pacer Mohammad Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan On allegation of match-fixing

Indian Cricketer Mohammad Shami is in a big trouble now as his wife Hasin Jahan made allegations of domestic violence, attempt to murder and extra-marital affairs. After the allegations, Shami denied all the allegations and said he is innocent and somebody is plotting against him to break his family.

He even said that if I had done something wrong or planned anything against my Nation, investigations should be done. Hasin Jahan’s alleged that Shami can cheat on his Nation too is a serious matter for the BCCI committee.

On Saturday, four officials from Indian cricket board’s anti-corruption wing landed in Kolkata and spoke to pacer Mohammad Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan about the allegations that Shami was involved in match-fixing. Reports said that “Hasin Jahan spent the larger part of the day at the city police headquarters Lal Bazar, where the ACU officials interacted with her on the issue”.

Hasin Jahan’s lawyer Zakir Hussain said, “I was not present at Lal Bazar. But I have learned that the Board of Control for Cricket in India officials spoke to her. She was at Lal Bazar for the major part of the day” and he could not give anyone further details.

However, there are some other sources that said Hasin Jahan gave them some proofs that Shami met a woman in Dubai who was supposed to give him money sent by another person from Britain. The officials also had some conversation with Hasin Jahan’s father and her two daughters.

Kolkata Police is handling other allegations made by Hasin Jahan of domestic violence, attempt to murder and extra-marital affairs.

Hasin Jahan also released audio clips in which the conversation with the pacer during which Shami rejected the accusations of adultery and claimed that he met a woman named Alisba in Dubai who was supposed to give him money sent by a certain Mohammed Bhai from Britain.

Following the controversy, BCCI decided to keep on hold Shami’s annual player contract.

Neeraj Kumar, the head of the BCCI’s anti-corruption unit had said in a letter, “The Committee of Administrators is concerned only with such portion of the said audio recording in which the person who it is claimed is Mohd. Shami is heard saying another person by the name of ‘Mohammad Bhai’ had sent money to Mohd. Shami through a Pakistani lady by the name of Alisba”.

In the letter, it is also said that “Please investigate the above allegations under the BCCI Anti-Corruption Code and submit a report to the Committee of Administrators with your findings as to whether there is any basis to proceed further in terms thereof. The investigation should cover:

(i) the identity and antecedents of ‘Mohammad Bhai’ and ‘Alisba’

(ii) whether any money was in fact sent by the said Mohammad Bhai through the said Alisba to Mohd. Shami

(iii) if yes, the purpose for which the said money was received by Md. Shami.
