Last witnessed in movie Hindi Medium, Amrita Singh has been a major part of the Hindi film industry for more than three decades.

Amrita Singh has been in Bollywood for a long time. She was last witnessed in a supporting character in Irrfan Khan starrer-Hindi Medium. Let’s look into some of the lesser known facts about the actress.

Amrita’s mom was a political associate of Sanjay Gandhi in seventies and her dad was an officer in the armed forces. Her dad Shivinder Singh was a Sikh whilst her mom Rukshana Sultana was a Muslim.

Amrita entered the film world in the year 1983 opposite Sunny Deol in super hit flick, Betaab. Their burning interpersonal chemistry turned out to be the talk of the town and they were rumored to be in love relationship.

A very few people are acquainted with the truth that Amrita Singh is the niece of well known author Late Khushwant Singh.

In the year 1991, when she was 34, Amrita tied the nuptial knot to a 12 years younger, Saif Ali Khan. After marriage, she got converted to Islamism.

The 2 States actress decided to concentrate on her family life and give up acting world after her appearance in the film Rang in the year 1993.

Amrita came back to the world of acting in the year 2002 with the movie 23rd March 1931: Shaheed where she was seen portraying the character of the mother of Bhagat Singh (donned by Bobby Deol). Unluckily, the well known pair Saif and Amrita got separated during the year 2004. Saif and Amrita have two kids, Sara and Ibrahim Ali Khan. Sara recently made entry in the Bollywood with the movie Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput.

Before making foray in the Hindi film industry, the actress was a belly dancer.
