Ravindra Jain’s Birth Anniversary: It’s worth remembering this man for his evergreen composition

Ravindra Jain, the visually-impaired yet very talented musician, and singer made a dominating presence in the Music Industry. He was born visually challenged, but his talent made him watch everything. The man was born on 28th February in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh.

He had 7 siblings including him as third oldest among all. At the tender age of 4, he was inclined towards music and started taking up the music training. Later he became a music teacher and reached Kolkata. He learned bhajans and poetry by famous Jain poets such as Pandit Dyanantraiji, Pandit Budhjanji at nearby Jain temples. It were his parents that first took the decision of teaching him music.

Talking about his parents, he was born to Sanskrit scholar and Ayurvedacharya, Pandit Indramani Jain and mother Kiran Jain. He got his basic training under Pandit G.L. Jain, Pandit Janardhan Sharma, and Pandit Nathu Ram. But his breakthrough into movies was in 1960 in Kolkata. Finally, in 1972, Jain started his filmy career and composed his first song ever being recorded in Mohd. Rafi’s voice.

His best collection includes Saudagar, Chor Machaye Shor, Geet Gaata Chal, Chitchor, Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaaye, and Paheli. He had many associations names including Rajshri Production, Mohd. Rafi, Yesudas and many more.

On his birth anniversary, it’s worth listening to his old compositions.
