On This Day, 20 Years back The Jumbo Anil Kumble took perfect 10 in an innings against Pak at Firoz Shah Kotla

Today 7th of February is the same day when Anil Kumble nailed the entire cricket team of Pakistan 20 years ago and became the second bowler to take all 10 wickets in an inning after Jim Laker who played against Australia in 1956.

It was 7th of February 1999 at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi. India was resumed at 324 and was bundled out for 399. The opponent Test cricket team was set with a target of 420 runs. The match was won by India setting the series 1-1.

But it was Anil Kumble’s one-man army who taught a great lesson to the opponent team. We guess he must have the magic drink on the day as he played unstoppable at the Kotla stadium. After Jim Laker, he has the second-best Test bowling record in an individual inning.

He took 10 wickets by giving just 74 runs in that particular inning which made Indian team to win the match by 212 runs.

The ICC remembered the day with an amazing applaud to the former Indian player. ICC official handle took to Twitter and wrote, “Anil Kumble tore through Pakistan in Delhi with a stunning 10/74, becoming just the second man after Jim Laker to take all ten wickets in a Test inning”

Apart from ICC, the netizens are praising this Indian player and showering their congratulatory messages on Twitter for the completion of 20 years of this historic day in Indian Cricket history.

One user Chinmay Tiwari whose profile reads as ‘Work in Sports an absolute pet lover’ wrote a prideful note which could be read as, “This day, that year a legacy was created for Indian cricketing world! A moment that can never be forgotten! Here to the man who surprised the world with his magical spell 20 years ago for a perfect haul! Thank you for creating this memory for us.”

Kudos to the bowler… We wish the coming generation of Indian bowlers to definitely learn tactics from the legendary player.
