Mumbai Gurudwara started an initiative to tackle the concern of the Noise Pollution

Noise Pollution is something which we need to consider about as many problems related to the issue has been rising in numbers. One major factor that add-on to the Noise Pollution is loudspeakers and listening to the religious hymns and chants becomes concern many a time.

Meanwhile, one Gurudwara in Mumbai set an example to overcome this issue. The Gurudwara has earned the accolades by the Bombay High Court, a report by the DNA. Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) was hugely appreciated by the High Court for requesting the Sikh community to donate 10k headphones to the devotees so that every individual can listen to the hymns without the loudspeakers, which sometimes becomes problematic for other people.

One of the division bench of the court, commissioner Rajendra Nimbalkar, said: “If there are 99 percent officers who are not abiding by the rules, but when some officer does so, he should be appreciated.” Even the devotees are calling it a kind of revolution.

The Commissioner Nimbalkar got praised for his work and also the Amritvela Trust of Ulhasnagar organizes a 43-day Bhajan-Kirtan met on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti every year. And it is always attended by 15K devotees who come to attend the Bhajan Kirtan from Mumbai to Thane.

The idea was quite innovative… Folks if you have such noble thought, do share with us.
