SRK Reveals The Reason Behind Being A Part of Mile Sur Mera Tumhara Recreated Version

26th January is celebrated as Republic Day all across India. The day marks, when our country framed the laws and the constitution of India, which came under effect in 1950. Apart from this, the day also celebrates the anniversary of Mile Sur Mera Tumhara, which was a song that featured the diversity of India. It also gave the message of spreading unity.

Mile Sur Mera Tumhara, was sung by Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. It was premiered on August 15, back in 1988. Recently, ZoomTv has released a BTS video of the recreated version of Mile Sur Mera Tumhara which features Shah Rukh Khan among his Bollywood stars which includes Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

During the making of the song, megastar Amitabh Bachchan said, “I think it’s very symbolic, not just because of the history that this marvelous institution has had, but the fact that we want to send a very concrete message. We are strong, we are one and we are going to remain together and find any kind of evil that comes our way.”

Shah Rukh has revealed how he was very young when he heard the song for the very first time. He shared, “The first time I heard the song, I think I was 20 or 21 years old” While the lyrics crooned by SRK is to the voice of Sonu Nigam. The actor further reveals that one of the main reasons he chose to be a part of this recreation, was that he enjoyed working with his co-stars in the song. Shah Rukh said, “It was nice to come here and do it with friends.”

The original version of Mile Sur Mera Tumhara in 1988 featured the legends that included Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Kamal Hassan, Balamurlikrishanan and Prakash Padukone
