Chinese woman diagnosed with ‘Low Frequency Hearing Loss’, can only hear to female voices

It’s quite annoying to tolerate men’s shouting on women, but we sometimes come across in such a situation where we need to plug earphones or headphones to remain in a mode of silence. But apart from all this, one woman from China has been diagnosed with a weird form of deafness.

Chen, who is a Chinese woman from Xiamen, was found suffering from a rare hearing loss, where she can’t listen to low-frequency sounds which ultimately stops her from hearing men’s voices. Well, it really sounds us odd but it has really happened.

One night, the lady was trying to sleep as she was feeling uneasy, and unwell with some kind of ringing sensation going inside her ears. But the very next morning, while talking to her beau on phone, she couldn’t hear a single word of him. Then she decided to go to the doctor for a checkup which answered all her problems.

This is an extremely rare and condition and affects only about one in 13,000 people. This has left us completely flabbergasted. What about you?

At the hospital, the doctors after treating told her that, she can only hear women’s voice which is naturally of higher frequency. This disorder is an extremely rare case which is caused to only one among 13,000 people. Losing her hearing capacity partially is also known as  ‘Reverse slope hearing loss’.

The doctors of the hospital shared about this bizarre hearing problem to the media and said, that Chen’s symptoms were different from other forms of hearing issues and they were all perplexed with this form of deafness.

Dr. Lin Xiaoqing, the specialist who handled this case said, “She was able to hear me when I spoke to her, but when a young male patient walked in, she couldn’t hear him at all.”
