On this 71st Army Day Parade, Bhavana Kasturi, the lady Lieutenant will lead the contingent of 144 personnel on 15th January regarding the Army Day. The day is majorly marked at India Gate and at all the headquarters of Army.

The lady has made this celebration special by creating history as time because for the first time in Indian Army’s history a female officer will lead the contingent of 144 workforces in the Army Day Parade on 15th of January. She has joined the officers training academy in 2015 after qualifying the NCC 38 special.

The lady after the rehearsal talked about her experience and said, “This is the first time ever a lady officer is leading the contingent. Earlier, never a lady officer led a jawans contingent. Boys are putting too much effort and we have been practicing since past one year. Our center is in Bangalore and I’m coming from our regimental center and it’s been six months we are practicing. Along with me, there are two male officers from the center are practicing as contingent commanders. This shows the kind of acceptance, the change and the evolutions which is happening in the entire organization. This shows acceptance for woman officers also.”
