Mexican Model Vanessa Ponce De Leon Was Crowned By Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar

Last year, Haryana’s beautiful diva and model Manushi Chhillar made India proud by bagging the coveted title of Miss World 2017. Manushi was all over the news and became an overnight star. Fans still can’t forget that moment when she was declared Miss World 2017.

And this year, another model hailing from Mexico won this Miss World Title in a star-studded affair on the tropical Chinese island of Hainan on Saturday, 8th December.

The best part of this evening was that the new Miss World 2018 was crowned by last year’s winner, Manushi Chhillar, in the coastal city of Sanya. Whoa, that’s huge!

As per the Miss World website, Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce de Leon, who is aged 26, has a degree in international business, volunteers for “Migrantes en el Camino” and is on the board of directors of a rehab center for girls.

The gala ceremony included US group Sister Sledge performing their 1979 disco anthem “We Are Family.”

Vanessa after winning the coveted title said in the said backstage, “I can’t believe it, I really can’t believe it… And I think all the girls deserved it. I am proud to represent all of them. I will do as much as I can in the time I have got. Thank you so much, everyone.”

The 26-year-old beauty was all smiled and overwhelmed by her victory and she happily folded her hands in gratitude to gesture the traditional Indian ‘Namaste’ greeting when the former Miss World Manushi placed the stunning crown on her head. She took a walk as the newly-crowned beauty queen, waving at the crowd and wrapped up the evening with a celebratory dance with co-contestants.

The pictures from the ceremony are just too beautiful. Take a look at them here…

Many congratulations to Vanessa Ponce De Leon, our new Miss World!
