Newton And Sanju Gets A Nomination At AACTA For 2018 Best Asian Film Award

The year 2018 has been an outstanding year for Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. Both are the rising stars o the Hindi film industry and their movies have done exceptionally well at the box-office and also gained critical acclaim for the same.

And now, here’s a good news for all the fans of RK and Rao as Ranbir’s film Sanju and Rajkummar Rao’s film Newton have got a nomination for this year’s Best Asian Film Award at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards along with Manoj Bajpayee starrer Gali Guleiyan.

The official announcement was made on the Twitter handle of AACTA. They tweeted, “JUST ANNOUNCED | The nominees for this year’s Best Asian Film Award are: 1987 WHEN THE DAY COMES, THE BOLD, THE CORRUPT & THE BEAUTIFUL, DYING TO SURVIVE, @GaliGuleiyan, @NewtonTheFilm, @SanjuTheFilm, @ShopliftersFilm, @TombiruoMovie & YOUTH.”

Sanju, a biopic on Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt was one of the biggest hits of the year 2018. The movie was a multi-starrer flick directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Ranbir Kapoor played the role role while the other star cast included Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal, Dia Mirza among others.

On the other hand, Newton, which was also India’s Best Foreign Language Film entry for the 90th Oscars, has also made it to the cut. The movie stars versatile actor Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi playing important roles. Rajkummar proved his mettle in acting in this film Newton managed to win everyone’s heart.

Talking over Manoj Bajpayee’s movie Gali Guleiyan, it is a thriller drama starring Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey, Neeraj Kabi, Shahana Goswami, and debutant Om Singh.

The Aligarh star was extremely elated with the news and he tweeted, “Congratulations team @GaliGuleiyan great news.”

Looks like Bollywood movies are creating wonders all around the globe.
