People want alternate music other than Bollywood, says Karan Oberoi

After treating music lovers with melody tracks like ‘Gori’, ‘Meri Neend’ and ‘Nain Katari’, India’s first boy band namely ‘The band of boys’ was dissolved; only to reunite on public demand. Karan Oberoi, who is overwhelmed at the positive response towards their recent release, cleared the air around this awaited comeback.

“Indie pop had to face a severe downfall after the 90s. Its primary reason was the decreasing popularity of CDs and cassettes, which diverted the focus of music companies from pop artistes towards Bollywood. But with the rise of digital era, it became easier for artist like us to directly get in touch with our audience,” stated Karan adding, “availability of innumerable platforms as well as love from the fans, who time and again express their love, made us realize that the time has come for reuniting and making some good music again.”

When Karan wasn’t making music, the actor in him was busy chasing his ambitions. After Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin and Zindagi Badal Sakta Hai Hadsa, he was seen experimenting in the digital space. Talking about his special attachment with acting, Karan said, “I am not letting my passion for music inhibit the actor in me, especially in the time when content is the king. I was part of a popular web series ‘Inside Edge’, which was widely appreciated. And hopefully, people will see me in its second and third season. Besides this, I am eagerly waiting for my upcoming movie ‘Strawberry Point. So, it’s a good time for me as of now.”
