Kapil Dev’s 83: Ranveer Singh Shared A Throwback Picture Of 1983’s Cricket Team That Made India Proud

Filmmaker Kabir Khan is all set to make a film on the cricket legend Kapil Dev featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead titled as  ’83’. The film will be based on the life of Kapil Dev and the iconic World Cup win of the Indian Cricket Team in 1983.

As we know India is the land where more people like cricket and in that terms the film based on the life of cricketer can give a good box office numbers. Like, we have seen M. S. Dhoni.

The main lead Ranveer recently shared a picture on a positive note for the film. on his social media accounts and wrote, “35 years ago…They made India proud 🇮🇳 35 years on…I hope we can make Them proud 🙏🏽 @kabirkhankk #83 🏏🏆”

A few days ago makers have revealed the release date of the film to be 9th April 2019. The earlier report said, the film will go on floor from mid-2018 but now we got to know that it will not start rolling in mid-2018 because apart from Ranveer Singh no other actor has been finalized.

Director Kabir Khan said, “As a young schoolboy when I watched India win the 1983 Cricket World Cup. I had no idea that from that day onwards cricket in India will change forever.”

“As a filmmaker, for me, the journey to that win, filled with raw energy and sheer passion of that young Indian team, is probably one of the most exciting stories I have worked on,” he added.

Talking about his professional front, then Ranveer has just completed the shooting of Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ also starring Alia Bhatt and right now he is busy shooting Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simmba’
