Ekta Kapoor is well-known for producing successful TV serials which stay on viewer’s list for decades. Ekta’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi had a great run from 2000-2008, Sakshi Tanwar’s Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii too aired during the same time. However, Kasautii Zindagii Kay premiered in 2001 and continued till 2009, making it a 9-year run.

One of the most loved serials was Kasautti Zindagi Kay which had Sakshi Tanwar in lead role. According to reports, Ekta is coming back with its second part. She took to Twitter and wrote, “With a piece of my broken heart I wrote in 2001, 17 years later I Reboot it dipping in personal pain & lacing it with experiences of an older me! The reports say that this time, Erica Fernandez will be in lead actress role. The actress had denied the news earlier. When Erica was asked about the casting recently, she had told a section of the media, “Oh no! that’s completely not true. Having said that, it’s great to know that Kasautii is making a comeback, as it was really nice show. If I sign something, I would break the news myself. Until then, I am just going to travel around the globe and explore.”

However, now, A source from a leading news channel disclosed that the actress has been in talks with Balaji Telefilms for quite some time and finally she has given a nod of approval to the female lead in the show. She would be essaying the author-backed role of Prerna Basu in the much-awaited series.

The show depicted the iconic love story of Prerna (Shweta Tiwari) and Anurag Basu (Cezzane Khan). The lead couple of Ekta Kapoor’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay shared combustible chemistry and continues to be one of the most popular TV jodis of all times.

Erica was last seen in Sony TV’s Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi opposite Shaheer Sheikh which ended last year.
