Government has prohibited broadcasting of condoms ads. from 6 am to 10 pm.

National Commission for Protection of Child Rights is happy with the order passed by government’s stating that all the TV channels not to air condom commercial for a duration ranging from 6 am and 10 pm

The legislature has requested all TV stations not to air condom before 10pm and after 6am, a choice incited by objections of express substance in such advertisements as the advertisement is considered in appropriate for small age group.

The data and broadcasting service said these advertisements ought to be opened for late night to avoid presenting kids to “foul and unseemly” substance. The service cautioned that any station discovered ridiculing the request will confront activity as per arrangements in the digital telecom company’s rules.

In a consultative issued on Monday to the News Broadcasters Association (NBA) and the Indian Broadcasting Foundation, the service said its consideration has been attracted to channels conveying notices of condoms “over and again, which are claimed to be obscene, particularly for kids”.
